My Choirs .................

I run 3 community choirs in Sydney, Australia.  All are a good mix of male and female singers, and we sing everything in four parts (SATB) acappella. Some groups also feature soloists.

The emphasis is always on enjoyment and covering a variety of singing styles, rather than the rigid pursuit of perfection.  All of the choirs perform several times a year, some more so than others.

We also have a week-end retreat each year in the Blue Mountains with guest workshop leaders in related fields

Unaccompanied Baggage .. meets at 7:30 on Monday nights in North Sydney
This long-standing and very musical choir was started by Kate Swadling, but I have been directing it for several years.

Timbre Flaws .. meets at 7:30 on Wednesday nights at St Martins Hall, Todman Ave., Kensington
The obscure name was chosen from a number of excellent punning suggestions, many of which included variations on Timber/Timbre.  The group started following an appearance on a TV lifestyle show of an Isingonthecake rehearsal.  I was inundated with calls and decided to start a new group in late 2002.

I Sing on the Cake .. meets at 7:30 on Thursday nights at St Martins Hall, Todman Ave., Kensington
This choir been together since the mid-90's, has recorded 2 CDs and is featured on a compilation of Sydney cappella music, to be released in late 2003.
